Joint stamp issue

Post Malaysia will issue stamps jointly with Brunei on Tuesday. This will be its third joint stamp issue with another country.
Before this, Malaysia had its joint-issue with China in 2002, where the theme was Rare Flowers, and Singapore, also in the same year, which carried the theme Tropical Birds. Philatelists will be able to add to their collection the commemorative stamps and first day covers of Unique Marine Life, which feature images of marine life found in the South China Sea. The stamps, which come in 50 sen and 1 Malaysian ringgit (Bt12) denominations, comprise four designs - two by Post Malaysia and two by Brunei Postal Services Department. Only 160,000 stamps, with images of Leaf Scorpionfish and Orangestriped Triggerfish, and 60,000 2-ringgit miniature sheets with images of the Chambered Nautilus and Spotted Box Fish will be printed. "The stamps and first day covers will be simultaneously issued in both countries," said a senior official. - The Star/Asia News network
