Teledirect sees 30% sales growth this year
Teledirect Telecommerce (Thailand) sees its telesales business growing by 30 per cent this year through deeper penetration of the banking and insurance industries.
"With our long experience in the business in Asia including Thailand and with the telesales channel showing more potential to grow in this country, we expect strong growth in revenues of 30 per cent. Our sales personnel are expected to increase from 250 to 300 this year," CEO Laurent Junique said yesterday.Teledirect focuses on selling its telecommerce and teleconsulting solutions to the banking and insurance industries. Its telesales platform provides outsource call centres for outbound sales calls and customer-relationship calls. The international firm said that despite the economic uncertainties, it would continue investing here by adjusting its strategy to conform to the local environment. It enjoyed revenue growth of around 60 per cent last year. Its core telesales product is insurance policies, which mainly appeal to insurance companies and banks. This year, the firm would add banking products, particularly credit cards and personal loans. It aims to sign up two to three corporate customers in each of the insurance and banking businesses on top of its existing customers of five insurers and four banks. Although general companies already have in-house sales staff, outsourcing could lower their operating costs while providing more convenience, Junique said. Telecommerce accounts for 95 per cent of Teledirect's total services. Insurers and banks represent 70 per cent of its total corporate customer base, with information technology, movies and retail businesses making up the rest.
