Wouldn't it be great if blind people could use their white cane to navigate their way around, just by listening to the stick talking to them? Wouldn't it be more convenient if nurses could know immediately when the salt solution being fed to the patient has nearly run out, just through a sound alert at the counter? Wouldn't it be really useful if paralysed patients could do their own leg exercises to improve their muscles by using an automatic leg-exercise machine?




Promising future for bioplastics industry

As the widespread use of plastic brings environmental problems, the possibility of using biomaterials to produce plastics that can dissolve naturally comes to mind. To promote the use of bioplastics, the Science and Technology Ministry is now trying to encourage their development in Thailand using cassava as a raw material.





Kiosks encourage an interest in history

To encourage an interest in Thai literature and culture amongst teenagers, Silpakorn University will set up a kiosk to provide multimedia facilities at Wat Thepthidaram to promote the works of the great poet Soontronpoo.

By April, people will find more flexibility when making all types of payments, thanks to the launch of the National Inter-bank Transaction-Management Exchange (National ITMX) by the National ITMX Company that provides systems for inter-bank transaction and charge management for the commercial banks.
