Surin district sees 3rd arson attack

A workshop at a school in Surin's Sangkha district was set on fire on Saturday evening.

No one was injured in the fire that damaged the entrance to the workshop on the ground floor of a building in Ban Ta Khong School. Villagers and teachers put the fire out.

Surin police chief Maj-General Boonlert Jaipradit said investigators suspected local teenagers set the fire. Witnesses said a group of male youths on motorcycles had entered the school compound shortly before the fire started.

Police said it was the third suspicious fire in the district this year. The others were at the teachers' dormitory at Ban Wang Palad School and at Wat Chaimongkhol.
