Little Prince starts pre-school

HRH Prince Teepangkorn Rasmichoti plays with his new friend in the pre-school play group at Sukhothai Palace yesterday.
Yesterday saw a milestone for His Royal Highness Prince Teepangkorn Rasmichoti. It was the first time he met and made friends with children of his age in a classroom environment.

The little Prince, who is 20 months old, took part in a pre-school play group, with teachers from Chitralada School, as advised by his father, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn.

Three other children - a girl and two boys aged between 18 months and two and a half years old - also joined the programme at the New Office building at Sukhothai Palace, where the boy prince and his parents live.

It was a day full for fun and play for the little Prince and his new friends. They played with toy cars, water and sand. The teachers read books of tales with brightly colourful illustrations for them.

Thanpuying Angkarb Boonyatthiti, the school's headmistress, said the activities were aimed at developing the children's social skills and preparing them for school.

She said Prince Teepangkorn was a fast learner and should adapt well to his new friends.

The little Prince was watched over by his father and mother, Her Royal Highness Princess Srirasmi, who sang songs and played with him.

Parents of other children were also present.

Thanpuying Angkarb said the class would be organised every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9am to 11.30am. The number of days might be extended in the future if that was desired. Three or four more children would be admitted to join the programme, she said.
