FRIDAY BUG
BOT and the power of the left side

The theory of the structure and functions of the mind suggests that the two different sides of the brain control two different "modes" of thinking. It also suggests that each of us prefers one over the other.

The right/left-brain methodology has been widely discussed, claiming that right-brain function is for those who are interested in art, the left for those interested in science.

The Bank of Thailand's officials seem to have their left brain functioning well as they breathe in and out about macroeconomics. Proof of powerful left-brain, rather than right-brain, functions came during the thank-you party for the press thrown by the central bank early this week.

Witnesses said just about every BOT official who took up a microphone during the karaoke session wouldn't have a hope in hell if they contested in "Academy Fantasia", "The Star" or "American Idol".

BOT deputy governor Krirk Vanikkul earlier showed his talent by drawing a cartoon which he gave to an exhibition for charity.

At the party, he didn't mind showing off another of his talents. A reporter asked him to sing "Joob Yei Chan" (Let's Kiss To Show The Moon). He said okay, but it seemed like he wasn't familiar with the song.

The song is a duet, and the karaoke lyrics are initiated with "M" when the words are for a male singer and "F" for female.

Krirk sang by adding the word "M" before each of his lines. That was not the only surprise. Throughout the performance, the reporters didn't know whether this was a song or someone fervently praying for help.

However, the audience gave him a hearty round of applause for his spirited attempt at entertaining the crowd.
