In brief :Nok Air's new destination

Nok Air yesterday launched a new two-flights-a-day service between Bangkok and Krabi, flying Boeing 737-400s accommodating 156 passengers.
From now until March 24, the airline is offering a special one-way fare of Bt1,250. CEO Patee Sarasin said the route was an extension of the low-cost airline's services in the South, also covering Hat Yai, Phuket, Nakhon Si Thammarat and Trang.
Farmers petition About 30 orchid farmers presented a petition to Industry Ministry Kosit Panpiemras yesterday, asking for more compensation for flood damage. Orchid Farmers' Club chief Manit Yamprayoon said that at Bt2,490 a rai, government compensation was far too low when actual damage was estimated at about Bt100,000 a rai.
Diamond deal Diamond Roofing Tiles signed an agreement with Power Line Engineering yesterday to provide roof tiles for the Ua Athorn project on Rangsit Klong 10/1-3 worth Bt120 million. It said it would provide four product categories, including fibre-cement tiles, concrete tiles, siding boards and Jearanai-brand products, which include tiles and roofing materials. The project is part of its efforts to boost its 2007 sales to Bt2.5 billion.
Safety expo Apex Event Solutions is joining forces with Impact Muang Thong Thani to stage a Thailand Safety Innovation Expo 2007 (Sainex 2007) from February 15-18. It will cover industrial safety , fire prevention and public-disaster mitigation, as well as environmental conservation, government agencies and the general public.
