Sonthi to meet Nam
Council for National Security (CNS) chief Sonthi Boonyaratglin called Assets Examination Committee (AEC) chairman Nam Yimyaem yesterday morning in a bid to meet in the afternoon - although he didn't say what he wanted to discuss, Nam revealed yesterday.
But Sonthi cancelled the appointment at the last minute, saying he had an urgent matter to attend to.Sonthi's call caused speculation over whether he would discuss the necessity of ousted prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra's return to the country to testify in the cases he is accused of. However, AEC secretary Kaewsan Atibodhi said yesterday Thaksin's return wasn't up to the AEC - but Thaksin and the CNS.
