Nothing is too small for a caring DTAC

Total Access Communication (DTAC) yesterday introduced its corporate value of "Nothing is too small for us" as part of its focus on brand-building after the easing of the price war.
CEO Sigve Brekke said the concept reflected the company's intention that its 4,500 employees would focus more on serving customers. "It's time to have a single focus on customers after previously concentrating on products," added chief commercial officer Thana Thienachariya. Executives have admitted that DTAC does not perform well in tapping the teen market, and the company is working on a strategy to improve its performance in this segment. DTAC has about 12 million subscribers. Its board will consider its 2007 network-investment plan next week. Brekke said DTAC expected to spend a little less than Bt15.5 billion this year on its network roll-out and would focus on the North and the South. He forecast there would be more than 6.5 million new mobile-phone users this year in the total market. One growth contribution is expected to be competition among cellular operators to offer free SIM cards. There are more than 34 million mobile-phone users in Thailand, of whom about 18 million are customers of Advanced Info Service and more than 5 million of True Move.
