Big expansion for Go Sun
Chicken farmer and frozen-chicken exporter Sun Group plans to increase the number of push carts in its Go Sun khao man gai (chicken and rice) franchise business to 250 this quarter.
The ultimate aim is to have 3,000 franchisees by 2010. There are now 130 branch franchisees, 70 per cent of them in Bangkok.Sun Group general manager Prasert Chanpaisang said yesterday that since opening its first franchise business last year, the company had gone on to open 129 more. As a result, it could have 250 franchisees this quarter and nearly 1,000 by the end of the year. The new branches will focus on upcountry areas, especially provinces in the South, because demand for khao man gai is stronger there than other parts of the country, he said. Prasert said the company believed its business strategy would drive sales to Bt1.5 billion by 2010.
