Name names, Noppadon told

A senior military officer yesterday demanded that a legal adviser to ousted prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra reveal the names of soldiers he claimed had threatened to kill him and denied the Army would be involved in any such attempt.

"We would never do that," said Army chief-of-staff General Montri Sangkhasap. He said if Noppadon Pattama, Thaksin's legal adviser, claims some officers had threatened him, he should reveal who they are.

Noppadon on Tuesday said he had received a mysterious phone call threatening to take his life unless he quit his position.

He insisted the mysterious man had threatened to kill him, saying unless he gave up being Thaksin's legal adviser, he would be abducted.
