'More conflict'

Paisan Promyong, president of the Central Islamic Committee of Thailand, said yesterday it was "severe contempt of the Islamic world" to execute Saddam Hussein at the beginning of the Muslim pilgrimage season.

He warned of deeper conflict between the West and the Islamic world.
