Mana ready for dakar rally

Thai rally driver Mana Pornsiricherd has been training intensively in China and France in preparation for the famous Dakar Rally.
He will leave Thailand for Portugal on January 2 to get ready for Lisboa-Dakar 2007, which starts on January 6. Jean Brucy will be his navigator. Sponsor Mitsubishi Motors (Thailand) has conducted intensive training for Mana, the representative of the Mitsubishi Ralliart Singha Team Thailand. To get him well prepared and to improve his skills prior to the most arduous rally in the world, the company has been providing him with intensive training since the beginning of 2006. This includes sponsoring him to participate in cross-country rallies, both in Thailand and other countries in Asia. The company also invited Luc Alphand, the champion of Dakar 2006, to share his experiences with him and to train him in Thailand since the middle of this year. Mana went for training in the desert in China in September. He also trained in solving pressing problems in France in November with Jean-Pierre Fontenay and a team from Mitsubishi Motors Japan. The company believes that the best way to get well prepared for the Dakar Rally is to be trained in the real situation in similar geography. Mitsubishi officials are confident that "Nueng" and navigator Brucy, together with Mitsubishi Racing Triton Evolution no. 361, will be able to finish the famous event.
