Pornsiri, 58, was one of three short-listed final candidates and the only internal one. She is a specialist in both international and domestic marketing. Her term as governor will be two years and nine months.

Pornsiri will receive a salary of Bt200,000 per month, with additional benefits like meeting allowances and remuneration totalling Bt100,000. However, her pay is lower than that of former governor Juthamas Siriwan, who had a salary of Bt340,000 and benefits of Bt150,000 to Bt200,000.
