New TAT governor selected

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) board selected Thursday Pornsiri Manoharn, deputy governor for domestic markets, to be its new governor.
Pornsiri, 58, was one of three shortlisted final candidates and the only internal one. She is a specialist in both international and domestic marketing. Her term as governor will be two years and nine months. Pornsiri will receive a salary of Bt200,000 per month, with additional benefits like meeting allowances and remuneration totalling Bt100,000. However, her pay is lower than that of former governor Juthamas Siriwan, who had a salary of Bt340,000 and benefits of Bt150,000 to Bt200,000.
