NEW PLACE
Arsenal rules at Central World

Fans of Arsenal Football Club can cancel their online accounts and flights to London if it's team souvenirs they want.
The fashionable team gear is now on sale at an Arsenal boutique on the third floor of Bangkok's Central World mall. It is, in fact, the first Arsenal store outside England, which gives you an idea of how popular the Gunners are here. The 100-square-metre shop offers all kinds of shirts as well as trousers, shorts, jeans, bags, umbrellas, towels, hats and scarves, plus items made for the team by Nike. Prices are lower than either online or in Britain, ranging from Bt500 to Bt2,000. A nice shirt with a photo of your favourite player costs Bt790. Most of the clothes are streetwear style, likely to be a hit among young Gunner wannabes. Female fans, alas, will have to wait until next year for feminine accoutrements - right now it's just stuff for blokes. And if it's a regular team jersey you want - the team name and number on the back - this isn't the place. The shop focuses on fashionable apparel. But the club's ambience is everywhere, with the team colour, red, dominating the décor, seats from Emirate Stadium at the entrance and video clips of memorable matches playing inside.
