Airbus A380s get cheaper

Airbus is offering another discount for additional aircraft to Thai Airways International Plc (THAI).
The French aircraft maker offered the option to the national carrier after THAI threatened to cancel the order of six Airbus A380 super-jumbos, after Airbus said there would be a 21-month delay. "Negotiations between THAI and Airbus will be finalised within one month. However, THAI is considering compensation over the delay similar to Singapore Airlines and Qantas - which have agreed amounts with Airbus," THAI chairman ACM Chalit Pukbhasuk said. So far, THAI has confirmed orders for six A380s, and paid an undisclosed deposit to Airbus. According to Chalit, Singapore Airlines has ordered an additional 19 A330s with special discounts while Qantas ordered another nine A380s, with the same special deal.
