Highlight of the week :PM's Office likely to talk with iTV

Although it is not certain that the Cabinet will take up the iTV case at its meeting tomorrow, it is believed the broadcaster and the PM's Office will discuss the matter between themselves to avoid resorting to litigation.

iTV has said would seek arbitration to reduce the fine of almost Bt100 billion demanded by the PM's Office.

 

NPA gets cracking on charter team

The National People's Assembly (NPA) will select nominees for a constituent assembly to draft the new charter to replace the 1997 constitution. The NPA will meet until Wednesday at the Navy Auditorium to pick 200 nominees for the Constitution Drafting Assembly (CDA) from among its 1,982 members.

 

AEC to review report on Thaksin's kids

The Assets Examination Committee meets today to review a working committee's report on the details of payments made by Temasek Holdings of Singapore to the Shinawatra-Damapong families for their Shin Corp shares.

New political party in the works

Former Thai Rak Thai MPs of Suchart Tancharoen's Pho Mod Dum faction, Somsak Thepsuthin's Wang Nam Yom faction and Sora-at Klinpratoom's Ratchaburi faction will attend a party on Sunday to discuss forming a new political party.

The party will be hosted by Suchart at his riverside home on the Chao Phya River in Nonthaburi.
