No plans to reshuffle Cabinet: PM

Prime Minister Surayud Chulanont yesterday dismissed rumours of an imminent Cabinet shuffle, saying the government's economic team had performed satisfactorily in fulfilling its set objectives.

"A constant, rapidly expanding economy is hard to achieve. There are times when the economy slows down. But I see no problem with our current growth, and next year's as well," he said.

Deputy Premier and Finance Minister Pridiyathorn Devakula also snubbed the news that the government bench would be changed soon.

"I have never heard about it," he told reporters on the sidelines of a seminar where he gave the keynote speech on the "Future of Thailand: Political, Economic and Social Point of View".

He said the country was enjoying strong growth and substantial inflows of capital.
