Bhutan's king abdicates, hands power to son

GUWAHATI, India - The king of the remote Himalayan country of Bhutan has abdicated in favour of his Oxford-educated son, a royal official said Saturday, stunning the tiny Buddhist nation.



Wijit allays fear of tuition-fee increases

Education Minister Wijit Srisa-an Saturday insisted that the government could issue a Cabinet resolution to control tuition fees after universities were turned into autonomous institutes.
