White for a warm welcome

Banana Family Park on Soi Aree has areas for music, dhamma, relaxation and spa treatment as owner Veeranut aims to provide something for everybody
Veeranut Rojanaprapa, the owner of Banana Family Park on Soi Aree 1 in Bangkok's Phya Thai district, selected white paint and wood to decorate the park's four activity areas - spa, music, dhamma and relaxation - at the two-rai location under the concept "Warm Welcome for Family". Veeranut says his idea was to develop Banana Family Park as a green area for families, and to give them the feeling of a warm welcome by using white decor. "We wanted to set up the area to be an alternative for families - something different from a shopping centre. Banana Family Park will offer creative activities for visitors, including areas for music, dhamma, relaxation and spa. The idea is to create good feelings and relaxation for visitors at holiday time," he says. Under the warm-welcome concept, Veeranut selected architectural styles to complement different activities. The first impression when one visits Banana Family Park is the spa area's decor of white and wood. Visitors then pass into an area that combines Thai music and dancing. The decor is also white, in a combination of modern and traditional Thai styles. The third area is the dhamma building with a bookshop, meditation room and study. This building uses tall windows that resemble those of a temple. The fourth area is still under construction, but Veeranut says this will be a traditional Thai pavilion called "Sala Prempree". Again decorated in a mix of white and wood, the pavilion will be used for functions ranging from marketing events to promote new products to various dhamma activities. "White is both for a feeling of warm welcome and to mix different activity areas under the concept of a green area for families. That is the theme of Banana Family Park," Veeranut says.
