SEC keeps close watch on big-lot deals

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is to closely monitor stock transactions via big lots where prices are far different from market prices.
"Initially, the SEC thinks that big lots whose prices are significantly different from market price should be monitored. We are considering current regulations and we will discuss the issue with the Stock Exchange of Thailand later," SEC secretary general Thirachai Phuvanat-naranubala said in a statement. There were 77 big-lot transactions of 28 securities yesterday. The biggest volume transaction was Advanced Info Service stocks on the foreign board with a combined value of Bt102.33 million. Eleven big-lot transactions were made yesterday to trade 1.19 million shares of Thailand's largest mobile-phone stock on the foreign board with an average price of Bt85.67 per share, compared with the closing price at Bt85.
