Freezing frappe
Black Canyon has launched a new frappe with Hershey's Nuggets, which is on sale at all its outlets January 31. Each serving goes for Bt65. Also available are the Mocha Almond Frappe, which includes coffee, creamy milk chocolate, toffee and almonds, and Cookies 'n' Cream Frappe which is topped with white chocolate flakes.
Traditional tables The wives of Bangkok's diplomatic corps are holding the second Festive Tables Setting event on Saturday at Nai Lert Park Hotel. Visitors can enjoy table-setting styles from 20 nations and enjoy the sweet delicacies from the Festive Cafe prepared by the Nai Lert Park chefs. Plus, the little ones can meet Santa, who has flown in especially from Lapland. Proceeds will benefit the Thai Red Cross Society. The event runs from 10am through 4pm. The entrance fee is Bt100 per person and children under 12 get in free.
A sorcerer with sauces Here's a chance to taste the creations of chef Marco Ragnacci, who's been widely celebrated as a culinary wizard since setting an unofficial world record for creating 402 different sauces for pasta in eight hours. Ragnacci virtually lived in his parents' restaurants until the age of 12, when he enrolled at the Ecole Hoteliere de Lausanne. After cooking his way through various hotels and restaurants worldwide, he discovered his knack for creating pasta sauces. He's in town to lend his touch to the Italian kitchen at Don Giovanni, Sofitel Central Plaza until Saturday. Call (02) 541 1234, extensions 4206-7.
