Teaming up to push '4 angels'

Home Run Entertainment, the producer of the "4 Angies" animated television programme, which debuts tomorrow night on Channel 3, has teamed up with three other companies to promote the "four angels" in the show.
The characters are drawn from the female hosts of the popular programme "Phuying Thueng Phuying". The animated show will run on Mondays and Tuesdays in the prime-time 7.45pm slot starting tomorrow.Home Run awarded the licensing contract to WISH Network, which will produce consumer products and services built around the four characters. "Licensing the use of the characters is part of our project to create characters developed by Thais to challenge those of overseas companies," said Home Run's marketing director, Chayanit Khongkhathong. Wish executive Sirichan Phiphitrangsi said it had begun licensing the production of T-shirts and children's clothes and accessories. WISH is a unit of Bongkot Publishing. "The characters have received huge attention from the merchandisers because they see huge growth potential," Sirichan said. Another partner is BECI Corporation, which will be responsible for mobile-telephone digital content. Its chief operating officer, Kamolphat Sawangkit, said content included downloads like ring-tones, music videos, video clips, wallpaper, screensavers, games, SMS and MMS. Metro Records will take charge of CD, VCD and DVD distribution. "The soundtrack contains a bonus track sung by the four hosts," Chayathit said. "This is just part of our plan to make the characters connect with everybody in the family." - The Nation
