Two killed, 18 injured in Yala bomb attack

Yala - Muslim insurgents detonated a homemade bomb in a busy downtown of this southern border province Tuesday morning, killing two people and injuring 18 other people.
The bomb exploded at 7:50 am at a busy intersection where shoppers were buying foods at roadside foods stalls.
The bomb at the Ruammitr-Wiphakul Intersection in Yala's Muang district also damaged seven motorcycles.
Police quoted eyewitnesses as saying that they saw two men arriving on a motorcycle and they bought some foods before leaving behind a plastic bag filled with morning glory under a table and left.
The witnesses said the explosion occurred shortly after the two left.
Chaowaroj Kingratana, 50, was fatally injured and died at the Yala Provincial Hospital.
Paibool Meeseedee, 32, also died at the provincial hospital.
Two other men were severely injured and the rest suffered minor injuries, police said.
Police are sketching the portraits of the two assailants.
