Check-up for schizophrenic patients

Srithanya Hospital urges the fathers of schizophrenia patients to join its Father's Day activities tomorrow.

"We aim to create understanding and urge fathers to have a part in taking care of their schizophrenia patients," said psychiatrist Somrak Choovanichvong.

She said that, with the help of fathers, people with schizophrenia were found to have more courage, better discipline in taking medicine and quicker recovery.

Fathers, mothers or relatives are invited to bring schizophrenia sufferers to join the activities free of charge. However, each family is limited to three persons.

Participants will be informed about schizophrenia and how to treat patients, Somrak said. The hospital will provide a free medical check-up for people with schizophrenia.

For more information, please contact Srithanya Hospital's Family Link Centre on 089-1175 283 or

02-9689 659.
