Beautiful men at Central

Central Retail (CRC) has spent Bt10 million to stage the Fantastic Beautiful Men Show in Phuket, hoping to ride on the back of the post-tsunami recovery of the resort island. The show, staged at CRC's flagship restaurant Phuja Nirvana, is expected to draw about 300 patrons each evening, said Sutthasinee Lovichit, vice president of marketing.
Cabaret veteran Daychawut Chantakaro - also known as Day Freeman - is confident the show will wow local and foreign tourists alike with its all-new one-hour format consisting of 10 international songs in English, Thai and Japanese. The show and a buffet dinner will cost Bt1,200 for adults and Bt800 for children. For those who come just for the thrill of the extravagant entertainment, tickets will be Bt550 for adults and Bt350 for children.CRC hopes the show will complement its other attractions within its Central Festival Phuket shopping complex, such as the SFX Cinema Coliseum, Ban Burapha and Thai Privilege Spa, along with numerous eateries. "We want to make it a one-stop tourist destination," said Sutthasinee, adding that Asian tourists would particularly enjoy the comprehensive shopping experience, offering everything from quirky local items to Swarovski Crystal. She said Western travellers, who often stay on the island for a month or longer, would enjoy the food and ambience of Phuja Nirvana, which has a chill-out music lounge and a restaurant serving Chinese, Malay-Singaporean, Vietnamese, Indian and Thai cuisine. With the unrest in the deep South and potential terrorist threats on Bali and in the southern Philippines, Phuket is experiencing a post-tsunami revival.
