Life Centre for health and wellness opens on Sathorn

Siam Retail Development yesterday opened its three-level, 14,000-square-metre Life Centre - a "lifestyle mall for health and wellness".

The Sathorn Road centre, which is 90 per cent occupied with 40 tenants, has 10,000 square metres of retail space.

The centre has four "zones" - food, beverage and service; beauty and cosmetics; healthcare; and recreation.

Siam Retail's marketing and business development vice president Prasert Sriuranpong said the company had a three-year management contract from building owner Quality House.

"We have operated the Life Centre complex for almost seven months, with the number of vehicles entering the complex a day jumping almost 50 per cent from the first month to between 1,000 and 1,500 vehicles today," said Prasert.

"We are committed with the owner to draw more traffic to the centre and have Life Centre recognised by urban people as well as tourists and expatriates. We expect the number of vehicles entering our complex to increase dramatically to 2,500 a day next year, and up to 3,000 a day in 2008," he said.

He added that the company expected to earn Bt55 million next year from rent. Most tenants have long-term leases of between three and six years.

Fitness First has opened 2,500-square-metre fitness centre gymnasium on the third floor, while Nawabutra will next month open a second-floor, 1,000-square-metre women's and children's medical centre and centre for assisted reproduction and embryology.

The company will spend almost Bt10 million on monthly marketing events.

The centre has a theme - Life Centre ... 4 Ever Young.

Yesterday's opening was attended by the four presenters of the "Women to Women" television news programme.
