Diamond Roofing Tiles has reduced its production costs by using natural gas, joining with PTT to set up a natural-gas system at its plant in Sara Buri province last weekend.
Managing director Sakda Maneeratchatchai said the company would reduce energy costs by between 30 and 50 per cent after changing its power plant from diesel to natural gas, results that would show in the company's financial report next year. Diamond Roofing Tiles announced total sales of Bt1.8 billion and net profit of Bt242.15 million in the first nine months of this year. UBE expects Bt20-bn revenuePetrochemical firm UBE Group (Thailand) expects total revenue of up to Bt20 billion this year, following strong demand for petrochemical products, said president Dr Charunya Phichitkul. UBE Group (Thailand) now has five subsidiaries in Thailand. They are Thai Caprolactam, producing about 110,000 tonnes a year of carprolactam, the raw material for nylon; UBE Nylon (Thailand), producing 25,000 tonnes a year of nylon for engineering; Thai Synthetic Rubbers for the auto industry, with a total production capacity of 7,200 tonnes a year; UBE Technical Centre (Asia); and Rayong Fertiliser Trading.
