Three bombs blast Phuket

Three small bombs went off in a Phuket community yesterday in what police believe to be an eviction-related incident.

The three low-intensity explosions happened in the Baan Songkhun community of Phuket's Muang district at noon yesterday, but nobody was injured. Pol Colonel Thanee Tawitsri said he believed it was related to a long-standing eviction threat and conflicts and that the explosives appeared to have been set up in an amateurish fashion.

Land has been in dispute with some claiming it belongs to private owners while the local authority insists it is public.
