Scholarships to continue

Finance Minister MR Pridiyathorn Devakula has promised to keep the One District, One Scholarship project going, Education Minister Wijit Srisa-arn said yesterday.

The project has so far been supported by the two- and three-digit lotteries, which are suspended pending a legal review.

The project awards grants to students from poor families with good grades and good behaviour.

Wijit said he was going to work out how to continue the project in the future. If his ministry received a huge budget for this purpose, it could be possible to offer a grant to every school, he said.
