MCOT :Panel formed to pick president

MCOT's board yesterday approved the appointment of a nomination committee to select the company's president.

The panel includes the director-general of Provincial Administration at the   Interior Ministry, Charnchai Soontharamut, who chairs the committee, Juturong Panyadilok, an inspector-general of the permanent secretary at the Office of the Prime Minister, Somchart Dheva Varodom, an inspector-general at the Labour Ministry, Penja Onchid a senior adviser in policy to the National Economic and Social Development Board Office, and Pornpimol Churuphant, deputy director-general of the State Enterprise Policy Office of Finance Ministry.

Construction:Builder expands

Bangkok House Builder has opened an Ekachai-Bangkhuntian branch and has plans to open more branches in Greater Bangkok in the next year, said executive director Worapoj Iamsuwan. The firm is part of the Built to Build Group.

Worapoj yesterday said the new branch would support the company's business strategy of focusing on the low-end market, which demands houses in the range of Bt800,000 to Bt2 million. This segment is estimated to account for more than 65 per cent of the total market.
