Mekong art collaboration

Eight art institutes in Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam and Thailand have teamed up for the first time to exchange art and culture in "The Mekong Art and Culture Project", the Rockefeller Foundation announced yesterday at the Jim Thompson House.

The participating art institutes are Hanoi University of Fine Arts, Royal University of Fine Arts (Cambodia), the College of Arts of Hue University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Fine Arts, National Faculty of Fine Arts (Laos), Bangkok's Silpakorn University, Chiang Mai University and Mahasarakham University.

The project aims to expand and exchange contemporary art and culture as well as create community-based learning in the Mekong region.
