IN BRIEF
Textiles :T3 brand doing well

The Export Promotion Department is upbeat about the future of the T3 textile brand after seeing the enthusiastic response to the 15 Thai textile-manufacturers that exhibited at international fabric fairs, including Texworld in Paris, Source It in Hong Kong and Intertextile in Shanghai.
Director-general Rachane Potjanasuntorn said yesterday several potential buyers and importers from Europe, Asia and South America had reacted positively to T3 products at the fairs. The department will continue promoting the T3 brand. Next year Thailand will focus more on working with neighbouring countries, including Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos, to expand their production network. While the neighbours can capitalise on their lower labour costs, Thailand still takes the lead in design and quality, he said. The T3 project was initiated five years ago to support local textile- and garment-manufacturers in developing their product designs and improving quality to meet the specific demands of the world market.
Real estate :MK's Q3 revenues fall MK Real Estate Development earned Bt83.32 million on revenues of Bt484.58 million in the third quarter. President Chuan Tangmatithum said yesterday revenues were down 8.1 per cent from the same quarter last year, because most of this year's revenues were coming from custom-built homes, which needed six to 10 months before being turned over to customers. The largest chunk of revenues will fall into the last quarter, while last year's revenues were fairly consistent between quarters. The company's backlog of over Bt1 billion will be converted into sales from this quarter to the beginning of next year.
Auto parts :KPN sales up in third quarter KPN Automotive posted sales of auto parts worth Bt703.2 million in the third quarter, up from Bt688.3 million in the same quarter last year. Net profit was up 25 per cent to Bt50 million. Chief operating officer Nuttawut Phowborom said yesterday the company had received new orders from domestic and export customers and had been successful in trimming some of its administrative expenses.
