NCCC to finish investigating before end of this year

The National CounterCorruption Commission (NCCC) will complete investigations into many important cases before the year end to regain people's faith, its chairman said Friday.

Panthep Klanarongran said the cases included scandals related to the Klong Dan waste treatment project, the Expressway and Rapid Transit Authority's Bang NaBang PakongBang Phli expressway, and alleged malfeasance by Revenue Department officials related to tax evasion in the sale of Shin Corp, he said.

Speaking on the seventh anniversary of the NCCC's establishment, Panthep promised that the agency would also expedite investigations into more than 10,000 pending cases as quickly as possible.
