SEC fines six for manipulation

The Securities and Exchange Commission has fined six investors, securities marketing officers and brokerage executives Bt2.66 million, following allegations of share-price manipulation at Bangkok First Investment and Trust (BFIT).

The SEC issued a statement yesterday saying Som Puakong, Prapassorn Puakong, Siriporn Chanaphol and Jeerawat Thanaboon were fined Bt500,000 each, while Saneh Kongpraphan and Suthathip Somboon were fined Bt333,333 each. In addition, the securities watchdog withdrew the investors' contract and Siriporn's brokerage-executive approval for three years and banned Saneh and Suthathip for one year, effective from today. - The Nation
