Teens, girl charged over rape

Police yesterday charged two teenage boys and a Mattayom 2 schoolgirl in connection with the rape of an 11-year-old girl, which they allegedly filmed, in Bangkok's Chom Thong district.
The charges follow a complaint filed on Sunday night by the victim's parents, after which police arrested the two boys - aged 17 and 14 - and the Mattayom 2 student and took them to Bang Khunthien police station for questioning. The names of the suspects were not released due to their ages. The three denied the charges, but police used the video clip as evidence. The three were charged with the rape of a minor, illegal detention of a minor for lewd acts and distribution of an obscene video, said Bang Khunthien police superintendent Colonel Theerasak Suriyawong. The suspects were later transferred to the juvenile court while police continued to hunt for two other suspects, both 14, he said. The victim told police the rape occurred on the evening of October 4 when she visited the Mattayom 2 schoolgirl at her home in Soi Wutthakard 53, where she also met the two boys, one of whom was the Mattayom girl's boyfriend, and two other boys she had not met before. The girl said she turned down one of the boy's requests for sex, but was pushed by the other boy into a bedroom where the first boy raped her. She said she was threatened by the boys not to tell anyone. However, a relative of the girl found the video clip on Sunday at a shop in Sampheng and told the girl's parents, who took her, along with the two boys, to the police station.
