TAT list to be pruned

The race to become the next governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand turns a corner today as the search committee is set to begin the process of selecting the final three candidates.
The committee will screen the 16 applicants.
There are three candidates from inside the agency and 13 from outside.
Three TAT deputy governors are vying for the top spot - Suraphon Svetasreni, Santichai Uachongprasit and Pornsiri Manoharn.
Leading candidates from outside the agency include Praphan Asava-aree, former managing director of NCCC Management and former MP Phimol Srivikorn.
Candidates from outside the agency must have experience running an organisation with annual turnover of at least Bt200 million.
The committee will interview the candidates individually, and vet their qualifications and leadership proposals.
The candidates are required to submit a five-page proposal detailing their plans for the organisation.
The search committee will select three applicants and send the short list to the TAT board for a final decision, which is expected on November 24.
