EC denies parties looking to revive name

Election Commissioner Sodsri Satayathum said yesterday she had not been contacted by any politician about forming a "Seri Thai Party".

Members and descendants of deceased members of the Seri Thai (Free Thai) Movement, which fought against the Japanese occupation during World War II, had opposed politicians looking to form a party with the same name.  - The Nation.

Lottery probe: Assets panel to grill former officials

The Assets Examination Committee yesterday asked former director of the Government Lottery Office (GLO), Chaiwat Pasokpakdi, and former Finance Ministry permanent secretary, Panas Simasathien, to testify about their roles in the two- and three-digit lottery.

Udom Fuangfoong, member of the subcommittee investigating the matter, said that another former GLO chief, Surasit Sangkhapong, was also likely to be called to testify about the questionable lottery initiated by the previous government. - The Nation.
