Angkhana sees minister

The wife of missing Muslim lawyer Somchai Neelapaijit yesterday urged the investigating team to work together as a unit.

Angkhana Neelapaijit met Justice Minister Charnchai Likhitjittha and the Justice Ministry Secretary-General Charan Phakdeethanakul yesterday, to provide facts and information to the minister who has so far been informed about the case only through the Department of Special Investigation (DSI).

She gave the two a summary of documented fact-findings from the police investigation and court trial. Investigating officials from the DSI were also present at the meeting.

Angkhana again urged the authorities to provide better protection for important witnesses as previous requests had led to nothing.

However, after the meeting Angkhana said she could now see the light at the end of the tunnel.

"The Justice Minister is a fair man, which makes me feel hopeful that the wrongdoers in this case will be brought to justice," said Angkhana.
