IN BRIEF
Reshuffle :Director-generals at Justice Ministry transferred to inspector positions

Three director-generals of three departments under the Justice Ministry have been transferred to inspector-general positions in the first batch of transfers in the annual reshuffle for the new fiscal year.

The transfers are scheduled for consideration and endorsement by the Cabinet in its weekly meeting today.

The first batch involves five C-10 officials and is expected to be approved by the Cabinet, Justice Minister Charnchai Likhitjittha said yesterday.

The director-generals seconded to be inspector-generals are Choojira Kongkaew, of the Department of Juvenile Observation and Protection, Charnchao Chaiyanukij, of the Rights and Liberties Protection Department, and Sirawat Jantharat, of the Legal Execution Department.

Former inspector-generals Phaisal Wichienkua and Suwana Suwannajutha will replace Choojira and Charnchao.

Arson attack :Police to question ex-TRT MP

A former Thai Rak Thai Party MP for Nakhon Ratchasima will be interviewed by police over the latest arson attack on None Rang School on Saturday night.

However, Provincial Police Bureau 3 commander Lt-General Sathaphorn Laothong said there was no connection between the arson attack and area MPs or local politicians.

Prachathippatai Khamsingnok was an MP for Chum Phuang district where the school is located. Prachathippatai was also secretary to former interior minister Kongsak Vantana in the last cabinet under the ousted Thaksin Shinawatra government.

Sathaphorn said police would soon contact both former and incumbent politicians at all levels - provicial MPs, senators and members of local administrative bodies - for interviews.

The officer said yesterday that police would also summon for questioning a number of teenagers who were convicted of stealing wild pigs raised by the school.
