Highlights of the week :Panel to discuss progress of National People's Assembly selection

The committee to oversee the National People's Assembly (NPA) will call a meeting of its five sub-committees this week to follow up on the progress of NPA member selection.
However, registration for provincial NPA candidates will be closed tomorrow. Although the selection process has yet to be completed, the candidate list will still be something to watch. The candidates are supposed to represent groups from provinces around the country, and the names could be opposed from Wednesday until next Tuesday before provincial selection committees hold a meeting to choose the members by November 19. The provincial selection committees must send the lists to the committee overseeing the NPA by November 21. The 2,000 NPA members will vote among themselves for 200 candidates, 100 of which will be picked by the Council for National Security as members of the Constitution Drafting Assembly.
AEC to meet on irregularities related to two-, three-digit lotteries The Assets Examination Committee (AEC) is scheduled to meet on Thursday to discuss alleged tax evasion relating to the two- and three-digit lotteries, which were launched by the deposed government. Former Government Lottery Office director Chaiwat Pasokpakdi will meet and give information to the AEC sub-committee regarding the matter.
