Foreign reserves as of October 27 were US$61.8 billion (Bt2.26 trillion), compared with $60.8 billion a week earlier.

The Bank of Thailand said in a statement that its net forward position in the foreign exchange markets was $5 billion, compared with $4.9 billion on October 20.

New aircraft

Boeing has delivered the first 777-200ER (extended range) aircraft to Thai Airways International, as the first of four Boeing 777-200ERs that will be transferred to THAI before the end of the year.

An additional two 777-200ERs will be handed over in 2007, Boeing said in a press statement yesterday.

The twin-engine aircraft can carry up to 400 seats. To date, 851 777s have been sold, and 46 airlines worldwide own or operate the 777 jetliner.

Philips distributor

Philips Electronics yesterday appointed Alliance & Link as its exclusive domestic distributor for accessories including headphones, webcam equipment, speakers and cables.

The move is aimed at capturing the booming trend of digital lifestyles.
