The Princess goes royal with star chef
The Grand China Princess Hotel in Chinatown is offering "Tan's Imperial Cuisine" prepared especially by Zhu Xiao Yu, the master chef from the Beijing International Hotel. Zhu was the youngest to win a gold medal in the China cooking championships in 2004. As part of the promotion, diners can taste delightful authentic dishes such as shark-fin soup thickened with rice, spicy gong bao shrimp, crispy baked snapper, fish, shrimp and bamboo-shoot balls, braised shark fin with crab cream, apart from Zhu's signature creations. Gastronomic delights in a convivial atmosphere Café de Nimes at the Grand Sukhumvit by Sofitel Hotel invites diners to "A Taste of Convivial Gastronomy" until the end of November The main focus is the restaurant's 24-hour international buffet and the á la carte world cuisine. The laid-back ambience, high ceilings and tall windows overlooking the quiet soi make dining all the more pleasurable. In addition, stylish emblems of dining, like decorative bottles and jars nestled in back-lit alcoves, serve to whet the appetite. The open kitchen and well-spaced seating complete the experience. Drop dairy, go soy at Coffee World Soybean has always been considered good for health, and now some studies say it also helps reduce the risk of heart disease, cardiovascular disease as well as prevent cancer. So, in line with all this talk of soy goodness, Coffee World is now offering hot and iced "Soy Latte" - coffee mixed in with soymilk - for the health-conscious. Luckily, this healthy option doesn't taste or smell like soybean, but retains the taste of coffee. "Soy Latte" is available at Coffee World throughout Thailand until November 28. Burgers get healthy - Japanese style Takumi Japanese Restaurant at Swissotel Le Concorde Bangkok is presenting "Sushi Burger" until the end of next month. One of the treats on offer is grilled beef marinated in Teriyaki sauce, served on steamed rice with fresh tomato, lettuce, onions and mayonnaise, at just Bt240 per portion. The "burgers" are available daily from 11.30am to 2.30pm for lunch and 6 to 10.30pm for dinner. To great heights with shrimp and asparagus Heights Café International restaurant at the Pan Pacific Bangkok is offering dishes created by its executive chef Patrice Dumont to capture the taste of fresh asparagus shrimp. The delicacies on offer range from asparagus risotto with sun-dried tomatoes and parmesan cheese, asparagus cream soup with truffle oil and diced pumpkin and fresh prawns, to prawn cocktail with mango and wasabi mayonnaise or prawn lasagna with fresh basil and garlic.
