BMA schools to open on time

Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) Governor Apirak Kosayodhin yesterday called the recent flooding "the worst in 60 years" but maintained that BMA schools would still open on Wednesday as scheduled.
However, schools in flooded Lat Krabang, Min Buri, Khlong Sam Wa and Nong Chok districts will remain closed until the water subsided and the city executive would have a meeting on Tuesday to determine a new opening date.Apirak yesterday inspected flood damage in Sois Pracharat 9-11 in Bang Sue district and a victim shelter at Wat Soi Thong School, before visiting another flooded area called Park Khlong Bang Khen Mai and Government Housing Bank neighbourhoods submerged under 30 centimetres of water. He said the Chao Phya River yesterday reached 2.02 metres above flood stage, which was lower than the past few days.
