Prem's chat with Pojaman

The following are excerpts of the conversation between Khunying Pojaman Shinawatra, wife
of ousted premier Thaksin, and Privy Council President General Prem Tinsulanonda, during their meeting at Prem's residence yesterday.
The quotes are based on an account by Gen Oud Buengbon, a close aide to Prem who was present at the meeting.
Prem: How's Khun Thaksin? Pojaman: He's fine. He exercises every day, plays golf and stays with his daughter. Prem: How about you? What are you doing nowadays? Pojaman: (Sums up her daily routine and shares her thoughts about her future business) Prem: Please be strong and resilient. It's inevitable that any leader will lose power someday. Pojaman: I have braced myself for this some time. I understood that I would have to leave the position of the prime minister's wife one day. Pojaman: (Asks Prem's permission for Thaksin to return) Prem: I have no right to allow anybody to return. You have to talk to General Sonthi Boonyaratglin, the Army chief and chairman of the Council for National Security, and Prime Minister Surayud Chulanont. I am only a mediator. I cannot order anyone. I have never interfered in politics or anyone's work, although people have said otherwise. the nation
