Military men to be briefed

Foreign military attaches will be briefed and updated by the Defence Ministry on the political and security situation in Thailand in a bid to boost understanding with foreign countries, Ministry spokesman Lt Gen Jakkrit Indharatat said yesterday.

The briefing will tentatively take place at the beginning of next month, Jakkrit said.

He spoke after attending a meeting of the Defence Council chaired by Defence Minister Gen Boonrawd Somtas.

The council assigned the ministry to organise the briefing to update foreign military attaches and US officials from the Joint US Military Advisory Group.

"We want them to have an understanding on the situation and what the government is doing and how it is performing," the spokesman said.
