Diamond Roofing Tiles awarded Bt130m contract by Italian-Thai
Diamond Roofing Tiles has signed a Bt130-million contract with Italian-Thai Development to supply roof tiles for the Ban Ua Athorn affordable-housing project.Sathit Sudbanthad, deputy managing director of sales and marketing, said yesterday the company would focus on property projects by joining with constructors and developers. Diamond's sales are expected grow by 10 per cent this year and at that rate next year, he said. It earned Bt168.99 million on sales of Bt1.24 billion in the first half of the year. Hard-disk drives Single Point Parts eyes 25% growth Single Point Parts (Thai) expects sales of its customised precision-turned parts and components for hard-disk drives to grow 25 per cent in the third quarter. Demand will see strong growth in the second half of this year, managing director Chakrit Methigunchanan said yesterday. It will grow 12 per cent this year and continue at that pace next year. Net profit is expected to increase by 35 per cent in the third quarter. The manufacturer made a net profit of Bt72.17 million on sales of Bt290.69 million in the first half. The company is spending Bt80 million to expand its production capacity from 200 million units a month to 250 million units. The project will be completed next quarter. Property Baan Issara project 90% sold Charn Issara Development has sold 90 per cent of its Bt1.4-billion Baan Issara project on Rama IX Road. Managing director Songkran Issara said yesterday that the company would launch three projects worth Bt3.6 billion this quarter - a Bt2-billion condominium on Lat Phrao Road, a Bt400-million low-rise condo on Sukhumvit 42 and a Bt1.2-billion condo in Phetchaburi's Cha-am district. The company reported a net profit of Bt7.18 million on sales of Bt391.65 million in the first half and expects sales will meet the target for the whole year. The ambassador Chong made adviser to hotel board Suwalee Thangsumphant, managing director of The Ambassador Hotel Bangkok, yesterday announced that general manager Steve Chong had resigned his position to become adviser to the board of directors. In assuming the newly created role, Chong is responsible for liaising and coordinating the operations and administration of The Ambassador's owning company with the France-based Accor's operating management. Chong has more than 33 years' experience in the hotel and catering industry, starting his career with international chains and rising to management level. He worked at the Asia Hotel Bangkok as resident manager and was promoted to general manager prior to joining The Ambassador.
