Interior reshuffle approved

The Cabinet yesterday approved the new line-up of the Interior Ministry's senior officials.

In the new reshuffle, Interior Ministry deputy permanent secretary Pongpayome Wasaphuti has been promoted to permanent secretary, while Local Administration Department director general Saroj Katchamart will become the new deputy permanent secretary.

Songkhla Governor Somporn Chaibangyang will replace Saroj.

Another deputy permanent secretary, Chaiyarerk Ditha-amnart, and Lands Department director general Pirapol Traitasawit will swap posts.

The new line-up will also see Ayutthaya Governor Somchai Chumrat becoming a deputy permanent secretary.

The new reshuffle will take effect after it receives royal endorsement.
