NHRC ruling upheld

The Supreme Administrative Court yesterday upheld a lower-court decision dismissing an order by National Human Rights Commission chairman Saneh Chamarik that seconded secretary-general Choochai Supphawong to be an adviser
The verdict also said Saneh's order two years ago to have Choochai sign in and out at Saneh's room every day was discriminatory, unfair and ultimately unlawful. No National Human Rights Commission officials at any level were required to do the same. Saneh signed an order transferring Choochai to be an adviser to the NHRC without a royal decree removing him from his post. The verdict upheld an order by the Central Administrative Court.
